Choose the right training provider…

Do you remember your first teacher? Most likely yes and it is because he/she had a great role to play in influencing your learning habit and thus putting the foundation of your career. Now imagine your career as a multi-storied building and you need proper foundation at particular levels.

Now that you are an experienced professional and decided to make the career you want, you have decided on skill sets that would help you make your career. It’s time to choose the right training provider.

How do you choose the right training provider?

The following steps are to help you structure your search to find the right Training Provider.

STEP 1:

Understand your learning style. What it means is, reflect on how you learn things i.e. are you comfortable learning something by reading or listening or visual or a combination of these. This is very important as this will help you decide whether you want to learn something using self-paced mode or classroom mode.

STEP 2:

  • If you decide to use self-paced mode then it is simple, check the following for any provider.
    • Quality of content via demo access
    • Can you access the course on the device
    • Can you access the course on the go
    • Check the student review and rating for the course
  • If you decide to use a virtual classroom course, check the following for any provider.
    • Most importantly find out who the instructor is and speak with him/her to ensure you are comfortable learning from him/her
    • Check the student feedback for the instructor
    • Check what study materials you get from the provider
    • If a self-paced learning module is included in the study material then it is a big plus in addition to the other things

STEP 3:

The last thing you can check is the course FEE to ensure it fits into your budget.

But you need to be careful here as there is no rationale in the course fee. Some providers charge a premium and some providers provide at a very cheap. Actually neither is good, as in the first case you may end up paying an unfair price wherein the latter case, you may end up with a poor quality course.

The best way to do a price comparison is comparing the points mentioned in STEP 1 and 2 and then look at the price and also you must check for 5-6 providers to get a better insight on the correct price.
